Edwards and O'Neil are two of the initial names in the frame to replace Vitor Pereira as manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

And both candidates - each of whom have previous links to the club - are part of the names to be evaluated by the club leadership.

Edwards is presently at Middlesbrough, which would create a potential obstacle to his hiring at Wolves' stadium.

Nevertheless the ex- Luton manager - who made more than 100 of games for Wolves during his playing career - is considered a strong contender for the vacancy.
